Approximately 5.3 million Americans live with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and related disability. Our Neuro Rehabilitation program at Maple Manor Rehab Center treat individuals that have had a TBI in a motor vehicle accident, a TBI in the workplace or from other acquired neurological deficits.
People who have experienced a TBI can have difficulties with attention, problem solving, memory skills and other cognitive impairments. Following this type of injury, there is often deficits in motor planning, balance, coordination, mobility skills, visual problems and difficulty sleeping. Rehabilitation at our centers focuses on improving cognitive skills, emotional and social adjustment, and restoring an individual’s independence in activities of daily living, ambulation, recreational activities and returning to their previous lifestyle. Our interdisciplinary team works closely with the individual, their family, case managers and specialty physicians to achieve the patient’s goals.
