Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (O.T.) services begin with an individualized evaluation of the patient’s abilities in activities of daily living, which includes personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, eating, and functional mobility. Maple Manor’s highly trained therapists work with patients and their family to determine goals. A customized treatment program is established and the therapist works directly with the patient each day to develop skills to gain independence in activities of daily living.

This includes:

  • Evaluation and treatment of visual, perception, cognitive, motor and balance skills
  • Recommendations for adaptive equipment and training in its use
  • Patient and caregiver education
  • Modifications to the physical environment to promote independence
  • Exercise programs
